Selcom produces multiaxial fabrics made up of two layers of parallel fibres laid in two orientations, stitched with polyester yarn, called BIAXIAL fabrics.The most commonly used and known biaxial fabrics are fabrics with fibres oriented at ±45º and fabrics with fibres oriented at 0° and 90°(as for example fiberglass biaxial cloths), ±30º and ±60º biaxial reinforcement are not widespread (the longitudinal direction of 0° is always the direction of the length of the roll and the stitching direction).

For special requests, other types of biaxial fabrics can be produced, for example +45º with 90º direction etc. Remember that the orientation has to be chosen from either 0º or between ±30º and ±90º.
These items are produced in a standard width of 1270 mm or 2540 mm, and as they are stitched they can be cut without the fibres fall apart.
They can be made with any type of fibre ( biaxial fiberglass cloth, carbon cloths, aramid etc. Or hybrids, even in each layer), with a total varying weight between 200 and 2500 g/sqm and can also be supplied in combination form stitched with mat, csm, non-wovens, etc. , On both outer surfaces or in between the fabric layers.
Biaxial NCF are also used in building industry especially with carbon, aramid and fiberglass mesh fabrics.
